They call me a pottery seller; I like to see lots of pots being broken finds it's inspiration In a series of 5th century German etchings depicting the life cycle of potters in the Middle Ages. Lustred onto a complex surface of earthenware glaze, glass and stoneware glaze covered pot, this inscription accompanies a manga style interpretation of the artists self portrait. This cherry picking of forms and iconography from the histories and theories of studio pottery produce a work which explores the convoluted relationships between function, concept, tradition and skill through the lens of clay.
