Celebrating it’s 20th year Fresh! Craft’s annual showcase of the best work from the graduate shows returns. Twelve artists have been selected, all of whom reflect the energy and passion of an emerging generation of practitioners across the fields of craft.
Ruby Aitchison, John Brooks, Grace Crawshaw-McLean, Saskia Doherty, Annie Gobel, Marcos Guzman, Kate Jones, Tracey Lamb, Alexander Maklary, Louise Meuwissen, Elise Sheehan, Kate Wischusen.
Fresh! is on now until 7 June 2014 at Craft, 31 Flinders Lane Melbourne
Fresh! is developed by a team of professional craft and design practitioners and curators who, in the months preceding the exhibition, actively view a vast array of work and attend the graduate exhibitions of over 35 departments within Tertiary and TAFE institutions.
This exhibition has traditionally been held at the end of each year but this year it will be presented in April and May, allowing for an even more rigorous and holistic approach to identifying and researching the freshest, most unique and exciting practitioners, about to embark on their professional careers.
Further celebrating the 20th year of Fresh! we are talking to previous finalists to talk about their graduating work and the developments in their practice and the industry since that time. Read interviews with some of Melbourne’s leading craftspeople here:
Stay tuned for more, interviews are uploaded each week.
