Craft's Library holds an archive of craft literature and periodicals collected across the organisation's 47-year-old history. In designing our new home, it was important that we find a way for the library to be shared with our members and the public. The hardwood shelves were brought with us from 31 Flinders Lane and were refitted for our new home. These shelves actually have a long history with Craft and were originally brought with us when we moved from Gertrude Street when we relocated in 2002. Each publication was cleaned by hand and sorted before being returned to the shelves. Divided by material type and discipline, these works reflect the deep traditions and history of craft practice in Australian and the world.
