'Guild' is a exhibition held in the spaces of 1000 Degrees Glass Studios. The studio offers makers the opportunity to have their own workshop space within a working studio glass environment, enabling artists to practice their arts’ businesses with direct access to studio equipment. There are up to four resident artists based at 1000 Degrees at any one time, which along with occasional users of the space and equipment, creates a vibrant and supportive creative collective. Although established as a glass studio we are not a glass specific workshop; the space and facilities offer possibilities across a number of mediums. The artists' in 'Guild' have practices in many craft mediums including, glass, ceramics, metal, leather and they combine them with with photography, video, found object assemblage and installation. Curated by studio founder Bethany Wheeler and brings together the community of artists who have worked in or collaborated with the studio since its beginning. The exhibition will be presented among the functioning workshop space, with artists using utilitarian work spaces to exhibit. 'Guild' creates a visual summary of the network that the studio has created.
Open Fridays in August 4 - 7pm or by app.
