Ceramics has been my principal passion for a long. My initial artistic training and background was in drawing and printmaking, disciplines which are reflected in the narrative surfaces of my ceramic functional and sculptural work. My studio is in Tecoma, in the foothills of the Dandenong ranges, and the surrounding forest stimulates me to explore and reinvent the fairy tales and myths of my childhood. My preferences for making vessels, and firing to high temperatures, are driven by my fascination with the alchemical nature of the fusion of clay and glaze under the action of intense heat. .
