Held four times a year, Craft Hatch showcases emerging makers in the iconic setting of 361 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne (old site of 1000£Bend) in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Craft Hatch is part of a professional development program for Craft members in their first five years of practice who are new to the world of markets and selling their wares. Supporting the makers with mentoring and professional development guidance, Craft Hatch is perfect opportunity for makers wanting to enter the retail scene and to get a face-to-face experience with their potential customers.
THE HISTORY OF HATCH
Craft Hatch was launched in November 2008 at the City of Melbourne’s City Library and to celebrate, develop and support emerging young makers. In August 2011, the market moved to 1000£Bend and in 2014 sat prestigiously within the New Craft Market at Queen Victoria Market. In 2015, Craft Hatch returned to 1000£Bend where we have cultivated a positive environment and great balance of audience, stallholders, space and numbers.
