CRAFT VICTORIA presents 26th annual graduate exhibition, fresh!
February 18, 2019
Craft Victoria's annual emerging maker showcase, Fresh!, returns with the next wave of new and emerging talent.
Eleven recent graduates have been selected from Tertiary and TAFE Institutions across Victoria by Craft Victoria and a team of craft and design practitioners and curators.
Running annually since 1993, Fresh! is a springboard for emerging craft makers into the Australian art scene.
The exhibition fosters the potency and potential in art graduates and provides an insight into the direction in contemporary craft and design.
Contemporary jeweller and past Fresh! finalist, Linda Hughes says “Fresh! is an artistic launching pad for selected students. [The exhibition] gave me the confidence to develop new ideas in my work.”
Fresh! is developed by a team of craft and design practitioners and curators who, in the months preceding the exhibition, view and attend the graduate exhibitions of numerous departments within Tertiary and TAFE institutions.
Fresh! upholds Craft Victoria’s ongoing commitment to supporting emerging makers.
The exhibition will be opened on Thursday 28 March by artist and past Fresh! finalist Tassia Joannides.
