A manipulator of colour, pattern and texture is how Carolyn describes herself. Working as a textile artist since 1991, Carolyn creates unique wearable art using the Shibori methods of stitching, wrapping, binding, pleating and folding. Experimenting with fabric painting, marbling, indigo, eco dyeing (Avocado and rust) and combining various methods allows Carolyn to experiment, explore the unknown, whilst allowing chance to intervene opening up a fabulous world of colour, pattern and texture from differing perspectives.
Carolyn uses natural organic fibres - pure cotton, silk. wool and alpaca in her work as these materials allow the dyes to interact and to creating bold vibrant intense colour
