There is a wonderful soundtrack drifting through the studios where Dan Bowran spends his time. This is because it’s his first ingredient for creating works that explore how we engage with glass as both a ubiquitous and unique medium.
Reoccurring themes stem from the histories and evolution of materials and techniques. And how these carry an embodied knowledge which can be found everywhere from prehistoric ingenuity to our digitally instant day to day worlds.
Dan has been working with glass since early 2000 and as graduate from Royal College of Art in London, has participated in various exhibitions, masterclasses and residencies in the UK, Europe, USA and Australia.
