Ellen McKenna is a Melbourne based pattern designer who particularly loves to create seamless repeat patterns for fabric. Geometric Lines and shapes feature in her patterns which begin as simple pencil drawn motifs which are then transferred to be manipulated and coloured digitally.
With a love of all things vintage Ellen draws inspiration from architecture, art and interior design from the 20th Century. Nature also inspires Ellen to take pencil to paper and abstract flowers and leaves sit within the misshapen squares and rectangles in her patterns. Ellen has created a cohesive and 'mixable' pattern portfolio with her slowly evolving colour palette of pinks, blues, greens and yellows.
