Lorraine Meinke is a multi-disciplinary, Australian visual artist who lives and works in Brunswick, Victoria. Lorraine is best known for her unique, hand built, stoneware sculptures and her ephemeral art installations made from found natural materials that highlight environmental concerns. Lorraine's art practice also includes drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, slump glass and textiles. Lorraine's work is largely inspired by nature, in particular Australia's native flora and fauna, which she finds particularly beautiful. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Lorraine worked in a number of other creative capacities including illustration, graphic and multi-media design and landscape architecture.
