4 February – 30 March

Part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival

Orangery  draws upon the Australian landscape, evoking its diverse palette with transitions of colour, texture and form. A collaboration between Vanessa Lucas and Courtney King, Orangery presents Lucas’ graceful and disciplined ceramic forms juxtaposed alongside her textiles, with illustrations by King. Orangery transforms Craft’s 24/7 window space as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Vanessa Lucas works simultaneously across the mediums of textile and clay – her practice examines the slow refinement of form and function and resulting in works of impeccable quality. Lucas has exhibited in many esteemed international and national exhibitions including the 10th International Ceramics Competition in Mino, Japan, receiving an honourable mention.

Courtney King is an award winning textile designer and illustrator. Originally studying textiles at RMIT university, King is known for her focus on living material, working primarily with botanical motifs and portraiture.
