The Board of Craft Victoria announces the appointment of Peter Selinger to the position of Strategic Director, commencing this week.

Peter has a strong strategic businesses development background, and experience in the arts, having been Director of the Chinese Museum, Melbourne, and Head of Commercial and Visitor Services at ACMI.

He takes up an important leadership role focusing on growth and capitalising on Craft’s business opportunities.

Peter Selinger will work closely with Retail Manager, Sarah Weston and Curator, Chloe Powell who together will form a strong leadership team for Craft.

This appointment follows the completion of Jane Smith’s role as interim CEO. The Board wishes to thank Jane for ably fulfilling her duties since December 2017, and for successfully implementing some important policy and procedural changes.

2018 has been a productive year for Craft, with the operation of our new retail space in Watson Place, a successful Annual Fundraising Dinner raising $40,000, the well-received Craft Cubed Festival and the staging of multiple curated exhibitions in the Craft Gallery and throughout regional Victoria.

The Board looks forward to working with the leadership team and staff to deliver excellence in the representation and promotion of Craft, its Makers and our Members.

Exciting developments coming up include Tiffany Parbs’ exhibition Smother from October 6, the Craft Christmas Catalogue launch in mid-November, the Craft Hatch market on December 1, and the Christmas exhibition throughout December.
