There are People who go about the World after Such Odd Works of Ancient Times II
approx 120 x 120 x 40cm
There are People who go about the World after Such Odd Works of Ancient Times II, consists of two lidded and elevated vase forms which take their inspiration from the German Schneeballen vases, made famous by the Meissen factory in the early to mid 19th century. Almost always seen in pairs, these finely made, over-decorated, almost kitsch pieces of European porcelain were the perfect starting point for the creation of a contemporary example of memento mori. The thick waxy glaze flows and drips over every surface, drowning the branches and flowered snowballs.
