Clay Voyage

CLAY VOYAGE- sending Australian ceramic artists into the world!

Last year Australian ceramic artist Shannon Garson had the opportunity to go to one of the biggest international Ceramic Conferences in the world, NCECA in America. It was a four-day whirl of ceramics, artists, exhibitions, demonstrations and inspiration. She came way with ideas, new friends, professional contacts and offers of work.

She thinks all Australian ceramic artists should have the opportunity to move on an international stage, take their work overseas and bring back ideas and inspiration to Australia. Australia is so far away from the rest of the world. She started Clay Voyage as a way of sending Australian ceramicists out into the world.

The first Clay Voyage begins in March 2017.......
In conjunction with Linda Fahey from Yonder Shop in California, Garson is putting together an international exhibition for the 2017 NCECA conference in Portland, Oregon, March 22-25. This international collaboration that will bring enormous benefits and goodwill between the artists involved, strengthen ties between Australia and the U.S and introduce the American ceramic community to a selection of the diverse and exciting artists that Australia is producing. The exhibition is called “ALL LAND/ OMNUS TERRA”

The artists are:
Shannon Garson (QLD), Vicki Grima (NSW), Fiona Hiscock (VIC), Megan Puls (QLD), Jane Sawyer (VIC), Fleur Schell (WA) and Gerry Wedd (SA).
(disclaimer: Jane Sawyer is a current board member of Craft Victoria)

All funds raised by the sale of pieces from this online store will be used to freight the artist's work to the exhibition. Please help by buying something!
