Lupino Bar and Bistro and Craft are pleased to present a new body of work from maker Stefanie Robinson.
Landed is the culmination of six years’ investigation into the forms and notions of nests. The artist's concurrent experience as a community artist working with communities recovering from natural disasters, dislocation, and migration has informed the concepts and meanings of the nests. Reweaving found ropes and wire, and shaping clay, has been her way of processing these experiences: a way of remembering and sharing stories and an offering of hope. Through this she have come to understand nests as
Fragile containers for hope:
invocations for shelter,
security and safety
The chosen title Landed refers to the landing or the arrival in a new place, the subsequent searching for and hopefully, finding of a safe place to be.
