Sunshine Print Artspace (SPA) is a not for profit access printmaking and creative space based in Sunshine in Western Melbourne. At our interactive Open Studio weekend we have programmed a range of demonstrations and mini workshops on printmaking processes for textiles and paper. We will have information sessions on SPA memberships and on all the programs we offer.

Members of the public will be able to book into workshop sessions and try their hand at block printing a tea towel using recycled printing blocks made from industrial and building waste. Participants in this workshop can explore pattern structures, colour and layering techniques and will produce their own linen tea towel. Workshops will be lead by artists, crafts people and educators who all experienced in their chosen disciplines and have been teaching in the higher education, vocational education and at high schools in Victoria. Demonstrations of paper printing and lithography will also be scheduled. Works created by members of SPA will be on exhibition during the weekend. Members will be available to talk about their work and the how they are involved with SPA. The studio is located on the same premises as the Fundere Foundry and visitors to the site will also be able to tour the foundry to learn about bronze casting.
