Window Walk | Britt Salt X Mimco
Transverse is part of an ongoing project that uses the visual language of architecture and optical play to create dynamic spatial experiences. Enveloping the exterior of MIMCO's Melbourne Central store with a swarm of pattern, the artwork is activated by the viewers' movement and the intersection of transparent architectural planes. These elements lead the work to appear unstable and in flux contrary to its clear-cut linear construction and strong contrast. The viewers’ eye is bucked from point to point and forced to soften. Blurring the edges of shape and line and allowing an in-between space to come forth and be perceived as an entity.
This contemporary craft installation is hosted by MIMCO Melbourne Central:
Monday to Wednesday 10am - 7pm
Thursday & Friday 10am - 9pm
Saturday & Sunday 10am - 7pm
This event is part of Craft Cubed 2019 Window Walk Project, funded by the City of Melbourne
