Window Walk | Lucy Foster X Cathedral Cabinet

Lucy Foster is an artist working with Assemblage, Photography and Installation. Central to her work are themes of loss and revival through the embodiment of material possessions. In ‘getting rid of left by turning right,’ Lucy makes an inquiry into the desire of identifying oneself with the objects they keep.

In the vitrine of Cathedral Cabinet, an installation forms relationships between personal and discarded objects, of which Lucy has experienced both directly and indirectly. A play on concealing and revealing calls fourth awareness to distant memories and re-told pasts; punctured music plays without sound, cycles of life and death perform behind a soft curtain. Each impression reserves a place in the audiences mind, however fleeting or considered these objects are ephemeral and bare no significance to true identity.

Lucy has recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours at the Victorian College of the Arts, and has exhibited both Nationally and Internationally.
