Silver jewellery making classes are held in the beautiful surrounds of the artist’s colony of Montsalvat in Melbourne, with master jeweller Jeanette Dyke. 
Join us and learn how to make your own silver jewellery in her professionally equipped studio.

Silver Ring Making Classes – for Beginner/Intermediate students
The Course:
• The focus is on either creating your own ring design or copying rings similar to some which will be shown in class
• Ideal for complete beginners with no experience necessary and intermediate level jewellers wanting to learn more in a professional working studio
• All skills needed will be taught during the class
• Everything is supplied; set amount of silver, copper and brass for decoration, tools, blades, emery paper, morning tea and super views, all within a creative environment
• There is also an opportunity to bring in your old 18ct gold jewellery to melt down and include in your design as decoration
• Suitable for 18yrs+

Dates and Times:
SATURDAYS 10am-1pm
4 Sessions (12 hours total): 11th 18th 25th August and 1st September 2018

• All materials (set amount of silver) included and tools supplied during the class

What skills you will learn:
• Working with silver and silversmithing techniques
• Measuring finger size and working out quantities of materials needed
• Annealing
• Soldering
• Drilling
• Piercing/cutting metal
• Filing
• Forming metal
• Surface finishes

What you will get:
• By the end of the course you will have 1-2 finished silver rings to take home
• You will have lots of help and personal attention as I only have 6 students maximum per class
• All tools are supplied for you to use during the class (not to keep)
• List of tools suppliers and metal suppliers (my tools suppliers offer my students discount on tools purchases)
• Course notes
• Morning tea

What you should bring and wear:
• Dont wear loose clothing such as flared sleeves or scarves
• Bring reading glasses if you wear them
• A pair of good steady hands
• A pen and notebook
• Tie long hair back
• Apron
• A sense of humour always goes down well
